The use of aluminum screen doors is increasingly common in many areas around the world. In both rural and suburban settings, the presence of a screen door works very well with homes that have a country feel, as well as the tract homes that were built in the middle of the 20th century. Along with working well with the general design, these sturdy doors offer several other advantages. Here are some examples of the benefits found with screen doors constructed with aluminum products.

Easy maintenance is one of the basic benefits associated with an aluminum screen door. Many of the doors are constructed using aluminum components that have undergone a process known as anodization. Essentially, the components have a finish that is baked on to the materials. This helps to protect the doors from rust, pitting, and other types of deterioration that shorten the life of other types of exterior doors.

Repair of an aluminum door is also a simple process. Many designs for aluminum screen doors make use of finished screens rather than the use of screen mesh. Rather than having to dismantle a section of the door to replace the mesh, all that is required is purchasing a new finished screen and sliding and locking it into place.

Unlike screen doors constructed with wood frames, the aluminum doors never require painting in order to look great year after year. In addition to aluminum screen doors that sport a basic silver hue, it is also possible to purchase doors that have baked on enamel finishes that do not scratch or flake over time. This can save you a lot of time, as well as eliminate the expense of purchasing paint and painting supplies in order to restore the appearance of your screened door.

While aluminum screen doors usually are constructed to hold up well for many years, there is the possibility that some section will become bent or otherwise damaged. With many of the aluminum door designs, replacing that damaged section means nothing more than loosening a few screws, detaching the old section, and placing the new section into position. The ability to replace sections means there is no need to buy a new door when one small area of your current door is damaged.

There is a wide selection of aluminum screen doors on the market today. Some are very simple in design, while others are more ornate. The doors are usually found at any home store, hardware store, and even some lawn and garden shops. Several manufacturers will custom build an aluminum screen door to fit door frames that are not a standard size.
