What Are the Different Types of Online Advertising Training?

Online advertising training can consist of many components, including online college courses, degree programs, tutorials, or webinars. Many schools and professional organizations host ongoing education for workers or anyone else who wants to join. Training can be ongoing as part of a degree program or short-term in the form of specific advertising related classes for those who are looking to add to their existing skills, or learn new ones in the managing of their own businesses.

One form of online advertising training is an online college setup. There are plenty of colleges and universities that operate partially or solely online. Students may be able to earn a two-year, four-year, or advanced degree using these programs. Online schools can be found through a wide variety of online searches, or students may be able to find a local school that offers classes through online learning programs.

Many associations and organizations may also offer online advertising training. These may be businesses attempting to teach their employees new skills in the form of on-the-job training or professional associations for advertising professionals which may offer ongoing training to those already working in the field. These training courses are usually offered in the form of webinars, ebooks, or through a series of articles handed out to those who sign up for them. Occasionally colleges will also offer these types of one-time courses as well.

Sometimes private consultants will also offer online advertising training to potential clients or others who are trying to break into the field. This may be carried out in much the same way as those offered by associations, but students often get more one-on-one support and counseling when the teacher is a private consultant. For instance, a professional advertising copywriter may counsel small business owners who need help with advertising, or other copywriters who are trying to break into the industry.

There are pros and cons to each of these types of online advertising training. Students will have the prestige of attending a college or university and of obtaining a degree if they choose to go that route, and financial aid will typically help with tuition at accredited schools for those who qualify. Association and organization based training also has perks, since students often get to become members of these associations once they complete a certain level of training. Private training is also handy, since it offers more personalized attention and a more intimate way of learning with direct feedback from a single instructor.
