It is helpful to understand how an ovulation scope works before attempting to use it. Just before and during ovulation, there are various hormonal changes in the female body. These changes are often undetectable by the human eye, which makes it difficult to calculate ovulation. An ovulation scope allows users to track the changes in the body just by observing the saliva on the slide, as saliva changes during the cycle.

Using the ovulation scope is considered simple by most, as the woman only has to place a saliva sample on the slide with her finger and then observe it. A woman who is ovulating, or about to, should be able to observe a pattern that resembles a fern leaf. This means that it is best to have intercourse that day and the following couple of days to ensure that conception is possible. If the slide shows a pattern that looks like a snowflake, it is likely that ovulation will occur in the next few days, but is not occurring yet. If nothing can be observed on the slide, or there are just a few dots that appear, ovulation will likely not occur for several days, or weeks.

Unlike some other tools for predicting ovulation, this product can be reused every month, making it quite cost-effective. It is also easy to care for, as it just needs to be wiped clean with a cloth.
