How Do I Get an MBA in Organizational Behavior?

A Master of Business Administration (MBA) in organizational behavior is an advanced academic degree that is awarded by accredited business schools in countries around the world. Every school has its own requirements for admissions that govern acceptance into their program. Generally, to obtain an MBA in organizational behavior, you must complete a bachelor's degree, take an entrance exam, demonstrate some practical experience, apply to a program, and complete two years of coursework with a focus on organizational studies.

Organizational behavior is the study of workplace relationships and motivations and how they impact corporate culture. It is a specialization under the general academic study of business administration and management. Focus on this academic area is available at the undergraduate level and the post-graduate level. It is not necessary to have a bachelor's degree in organizational behavior to pursue a master's in this area, however.

Admission requirements for MBA programs differ, depending upon the school and the country in which it is located. Generally, you must have a bachelor's degree, or its equivalent, to apply, but that degree does not necessarily have to be in an undergraduate business school major. Once you are accepted into a program, you must complete the school's requirements for a degree. An MBA in organizational behavior typically requires you to complete four semesters or two years of coursework, totaling somewhere between 16 and 20 classes. Every school will have different specific requirements, but because the MBA is a global degree that is recognized by businesses worldwide, there is a certain level of standardization across programs. Your degree coursework will consist of general business course requirements and classes that specifically address the organizational behavior focus.

Some schools will require you to complete an internship as part of your degree requirements. Others will require you to pass comprehensive examinations before you are eligible to graduate. Still others require you to write and defend a thesis. Once you have satisfied all degree requirements and paid your tuition bill in full, the school will grant you an MBA in organizational behavior.
