How Do I Choose the Best Lip Tint?

A lip tint, or lip stain, can be used to color the lips, and it is much less heavy that lipstick. When choosing lip tints, keep in mind that some colors may complement your complexion and skin types better than others. Take note of how long the color is supposed to last, since some lip tints will wear off after a few hours. Also, try not to choose a tip tint that is too watery or one that is too thick.

One of the first things that you will want to consider when buying a lip tint is what color to buy. Dark colors usually look better on women with dark skin, while light colors will often look better on individuals with light skin. Also, if you have cool skin undertones, you should consider lip tints with blue undertones. On the other hand, you should choose a lip color that has orange undertones if you have warm skin.

Many experts believe that a woman should also choose a lip tint that is close to her natural lip color. Usually, a color that is a couple shades darker than your natural lip color is best. Anything darker should be saved for a dramatic nighttime look. Also, light colors typically look better on women with blonde hair, but darker colors can be worn by women with a dark hair color.

Lip tints can sometimes cause the skin on the lips to become dry. If you are prone to dry lip skin or chapped lips, you should look for a moisturizing lip tint. Some lip tints even come with a separate moisturizing top coat. If you are unable to find these types of lip tints, applying a lip balm should help prevent dry lips.

Most lip tints are designed to be worn for long periods of time. Unlike most lipsticks, they will usually last at least a few hours. Some are formulated to stay on the lips for around eight hours. A long-lasting lip tint may be best for you if you would rather not have to touch up your lips every few hours.

The consistency of a lip tint should also be taken into consideration. Generally, a lip tint should be a little thicker than water. Lip tints that are thinner than this will not usually provide very good coverage. On the other hand, very thick lip tints will usually be too heavy and cake on the lips.
