How Do I Choose the Best Hula Hoop® Classes?

As with any type of workout class, it is important to choose one suited to your needs, abilities, and your limitations. If you have never touched a Hula-Hoop® before, advanced Hula-Hoop® classes are probably not the best choice. Start simply and slowly and then work your way up to the more advanced classes. There are several other considerations to keep in mind when choosing Hula Hoop® classes besides how advanced the program is.

It makes sense to decide exactly what you want from Hula-Hoop® classes before you begin searching. If you just want a bit of toning and a fun way to get a little more movement into your routine, you will want to find a class suitable for that type of workout. On the other hand, there are also classes that focus on weight loss and building core strength.

Some Hula-Hoop® classes use a weighted hoop while others use a standard model. While the weighted hoop may be simpler to maneuver once you have mastered the techniques, you may end up with a few bruises while you’re still getting the hang of it. Standard hoops are very light, but they do require more exertion to keep rotating.

Also, it is a good idea to find out if there is a program available that is convenient to your location. If there is not one near your home, there may be one that is nearby your workplace or some other place that you travel to on a regular basis. The times that the Hula-Hoop® classes are available will also be important so make sure the class schedule fits your schedule.

Demographics may play a role when choosing Hula-Hoop® classes as well. If you are not quite a teenager any more you may not wish to choose a class filled with teens. If you are a teen, you may not want to join a class filled with people who remind you of your parents. The age range of the participants may also determine the type of music played in the class.

You may also want to ask what people wear to Hula-Hoop® classes. Some people are more comfortable in designer styles even in workout wear while others are perfectly fine with sweats or shorts. You might also want to find out if the class you are interested in is serious or lighthearted. It is important to feel comfortable in any exercise class if you wish to obtain the maximum benefits.
