What Are the Different Types of Security Administrator Jobs?

There are many different types of security administrator jobs available, depending on what industry a person wishes to work in while ensuring security. Most of these jobs, however, are related to security in reference to software development or networks and information systems to keep data secure. Some of these jobs can be found within the military and government, and such jobs often require security clearance as well as a background in information technology (IT) and data security. Other security administrator jobs can be found in the private sector at a variety of companies and organizations.

Security administrator jobs are typically those involved in some aspect of data or information security, which can include quite a wide range of positions and industries. Many of these jobs are involved in basic information security through the administration of servers, typically used by Internet websites and internal data storage at a company or organization. Such jobs can range from starting-level employees responsible for creating lines of code for a security utility to administrators who oversee all aspects of data security. There may also be security administrator jobs for those interested in working as a website administrator, overseeing general data issues and security.

Some security administrator jobs are available within the government and military.
