Not-for-profit corporations might include jobs in the educational or medical field, such as executive director.

The director of development for a fundraising organization might need to provide a crucial approach or maneuvering to help the company succeed in its goals. People in these roles might offer proposals seeking grants from major institutions. Often these directors will work side-by-side with the president or vice president of the company. They often will manage the organization's website and records, make important phone calls and be in direct communication with other companies.

Another not-for-profit job might include a software implementation consultant. This work could include handling the payroll and financial reporting, which is done by computer. A strong background in financial planning as well as good organizational skills are helpful for this job.

A not-for-profit tax senior associate would have to be very knowledgeable in tax-related issues regarding the organization he is working for. Often they would utilize some type of tax software to fulfill their obligations. Preparing tax forms would be a major responsibility. A bachelor's degree in accounting would be helpful in this position as well.

Market sales director for a non-profit organization would generally implement and organize events with a direct sales marketing strategic approach. This job might include devising innovative plans to promote the company's products or services. The job might require providing technological support via the telephone or computer. Expert computer software skills might also be required.

Volunteer coordinators working in any of the not-for-profit jobs typically recruit and train newly hired individuals. Volunteer workers for homeless shelters and churches are other types of not-for-profit jobs. Domestic animal shelters as well as wildlife refuge shelters often enlist volunteers to help in their non-profit organizations.
