Sinus pressure can be caused by a cold, allergy, or a sinus infection. There are a variety of sinus pressure remedies on the market that may help. When choosing the best sinus pressure medicine, it is important to consider additional symptoms, the likely cause of the sinus trouble, and other medical conditions you may be experiencing.

Symptoms are one of the first things to take into account when deciding what sinus pressure medicine is needed. In addition to sinus pressure, other symptoms may include headache, fever, dizziness, or a runny nose. Some people may have all of these symptoms.

Certain sinus pressure medicine may have ingredients that treat additional symptoms. Some sinus medications contain a pain reliever such as acetaminophen. This may help if you have a fever.

Many of the sinus pressure medicines available contain a decongestant. This helps the mucus drain and may provide sinus pressure relief. It may also help reduce inflammation, which can also occur with sinusitis. A medication containing a decongestant may also help if sinus pressure is caused by a cold.

If you believe your sinus pressure is due to allergies, you may want to look for a sinus pressure medicine that contains an antihistamine. This will help dry up the mucus and reduce pain. Some medications contain both a decongestant and an antihistamine.

Consider what other medications you are taking, including both prescription and over-the-counter medicines. Certain medications can cause an adverse reaction when they interact. If you're unsure, ask your doctor or a pharmacist.

It is also essential to consider any other medical conditions you have. For instance, common sinus pressure medications have ingredients that can speed up the heart rate. Therefore, these medicines may not be advisable for people who have certain cardiac conditions.

If you prefer to take medication in a certain form, you may want to take that into consideration when choosing a sinus pressure medicine. Some medications are in pill form. Others are in a liquid or a nasal spray. Medications may also have different dosing frequencies. Some may contain time-released medication, which will last throughout the day.

Look into medication side effects when selecting a sinus medicine. Some medications may make a person sleepy or interfere with driving. It may also be inadvisable to take certain sinus pressure medications if you are using machinery. Be sure to read about all side effects before taking.

In spite of the fact that I have to show an ID, get fingerprinted and promise my firstborn child to get psuedoephedrine, for me, it's still the best sinus medicine. Nothing helps knock out a sinus headache better than the pseudoephedrine. I usually take it with Advil or Aleve for the best results.

It's just a shame that people who have no intentions of making meth can't get something that relieves their symptoms, or they have to jump through a series of ridiculous hoops to get it. And our sheriff's department is still busting meth labs on a weekly basis.
