How do I Choose the Best Padded Folding Chair?

There are many factors that go into choosing a padded folding chair. Knowing whether you will use your padded folding chair indoors or out can help you decide on a model. Other factors to consider are the weight and size of the chair. You may want to sit in it to see how comfortable it is and make sure there is ample padding. It can also be a good idea to fold and unfold the chair several times to see if it is easy to do.

Consider where the padded folding chair might be used. If it is intended primarily for indoor use, you may want to choose a wooden one because this type is generally sturdier than chairs made from other materials. In the event the chair will be used outdoors, a vinyl, plastic, or aluminum model might be better, as these are generally weatherproof.

You should make sure the chair is not too heavy to transport, especially if you plan to take it with you to places such as sporting events or picnics. Even so, it should not be flimsy and unstable. Pick up the chair so you can get an idea of the weight. Unfold it and sit it on level ground to see if it appears wobbly or unsteady.

There are a number of different sizes of folding chairs available. Make sure you get the one that suits you best by trying it out before you buy it. Unfold the chair and sit down in it. As you do, check to see that your back is fully supported and your feet are able to touch the floor. If you are buying the chair for a child, have her sit in the seat, noting the position of her legs and back while doing so.

The amount of cushioning you need can depend on how often you will sit in the padded folding chair as well as your own anatomy. Some models have padding only on the seat, while others are also padded on the back. The latter can be a good choice if you are prone to back problems or like to place a pillow behind you for support.

Even the best chair can be a pain to use if it does not fold and unfold easily. Make sure the one you select is easy to operate. Open and close the padded folding chair several times in order to make sure you will not have any trouble doing this later. Avoid buying a model that gets stuck easily, as it could lock in place and become inoperable.
